30 Exemptions from Healthcare!

Last week we heard about a threat from McDonalds that if they didn't get an exemption from the BHO Healthcare Reform, they would drop the mini-med plans for 30,000 employees. The White House came out and said that was NOT Correct, followed shortly by Corporate McDonalds saying the same thing, very carefully. The way it was worded, they didn't exactly deny that the letter, or the threat, existed.

Now today we find out that BHO is granting an exception to, not only McDonalds, but 30 companies all told. How convienient! First they deny it, then they do it, next they'll claim they never denied it in the first place. I would love for someone to check the campaign contributions made in the last month too. My bet is that McDonalds has a big fat one written out to the DNC! Along with the other 29 companies that received this "exemption". Why doesn't this guy just declare marital law so we can have a Civil War, kick his ass, and be done with this bull shit?!

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Healthcare Woes Continue

Well, the 15th of this month the new Healthcare Law went into effect. This law stated that healthcare could not be denied based on pre-existing conditions. Here's the caveat - it only applied to persons 19 years old or younger. So, for a diabetic person over the age of 19, they are still free to deny us coverage. And what was the answer to this law going into effect? I was told today that the insurance companies have cancelled all of their Child Only policies and are not carrying that coverage any more. ROFLMAO Did he really think he could corner them that way? HA HA HA.

So what has brought this on? I am royally screwed again. As a diabetic who takes insulin, I am an automatic decline for any insurance policy. I am considering taking a new position, but the monthly premiums are, hold onto your hats, $988.54 per month for a family policy. Yes, $1000/month, or $12,000/year. And add a $3000 dollar deductible to that which doesn't cover doctor visits or meds. So I started looking at Private Health Insurance costs to see if I could find it cheaper. That's where I found out that because they put me on insulin I am now completely uninsurable. When I was on oral meds they would exclude me for a year and then cover me. Now they won't even bother talking to me.

Oh, but that is not the best part. Because I can't get private insurance... and because the new Healthcare Law has done away with Child Only policies, I can't get insurance for either of my children now as well. They won't cover me, and my boys can't get insurance unless they are on my policy! Is that really what you meant to do Mr. Obama? Really?

Where is my healthcare Mr. Obama?

Ok, today I'm going to bitch about something a little closer to home. In February of this year I had to take my youngest to the ER for dehydration due to a viral illness and severe vomiting and diarrhea. I called his insurance company a couple of weeks ago to find out why they hadn't paid anything on his bill. She told me they had to check if the virus was a "pre-existing condition". I knew something was up then. Well, today I got a letter telling me they had denied his ER visit. Here is what they said:

"The above emergency room claim has not been approved because:
the condition, viral illness, did not warrant an emergency room visit. The symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and weakness could have been evaluated in a less acute setting. The medical evaluation could have been performed at a physicians's office."

My son started running fever, throwing up, and running to the bathroom every five minutes on Friday night. By Sunday he was dehydrated and going downhill. I hadn't been able to stop the vomiting or diarrhea with OTC drugs. Now tell me, what would you do? I took him to the ER thinking that this was one of the instances that I bought the insurance for. Now they are telling me I was a bad parent to needlessly running my kid to ER. I guess they wanted me to wait until he had a seizure or was unconcious from the dehydration before I sought treatment for him.

The next letter I opened was from his previous insurance company denying a claim for a hand X-ray for the same kid from last November. They are telling me that because it was an accident it will be covered under the accident rider on his policy, which hasn't met the deductible of $2500.00. When the hell did that get added?! I didn't agree to that BS.

So this is where our healthcare is going. Just because they have to provide you with a policy under this new law (Which won't take effect until 2014 BTW.), they don't have to pay the God Damned Bill. They also get to raise your rates anytime they feel like it. Welcome to Obamacare folks. It just gets worse from here.

Reid needs a real life

I watched Harry Reid and Greta Van Sustren (clips) and it occurs to me that the liberal democrats are living in a fantasy world. My oldest boy is going into psychology and he describes it as a self indulgent delusional state. Reid actually believes that people are thanking him for Health Care. The man has lost his mind. How can he miss the people protesting? Are all democrats in this state of delusion? I know Claire McCaskill is. She keeps talking about how the people of Missouri are so happy with Healthcare. Personally I think Claire needs to get the hell out of St. Louis and meet the rest of her state. Not all of us are welfare recipient, government hand out begging victims. Some of us have a life and we don't care for her brand of baby sitting.

I have yet to meet anyone who likes healthcare. They keep telling me they are out there, but I haven't found any yet, and I really am looking. I would like to meet someone who can tell me why it's a good thing my premium is going from $200/month to $600/month. I really want to know what they think.

One good thing that happened today is the blocking of the FCC from controlling the internet. As a computer geek I can tell you that is the LAST place the FCC needs to stick their socialist nose. They barely know what a router is, let alone how to institute a decent security policy on one. If they had gotten their hands on the power to tell us how to secure our networks, none of us would have a safe credit card number in the world. So thank you courts. You did good for once.

Wow. Now we have healthcare. Life must be good?

Since when did a prayer vigil become an act of terrorism. Russ Carnahan, our Congressman from St. Louis, where the dead get to vote three times, has asked for police protection because somebody scared him. They left a coffin on his sidewalk. Of course that was after the prayer vigil was staged to voice concerns about government funded abortion in the healthcare law. Carnahan is playing this up to grab attention and try to hurt the protestors. Nobody has threatened him. He voted for a bill that nobody wanted and he has hacked off alot of people, but nobody is taking pot shots at him. This is just the typical lib play book. If the ball misses you, fall down and holler "OWWW" as loud as you can. See if they'll give you the base anyway. (Sorry, it’s spring and baseball is in the air.) Grow up Dems. You voted for it, deal with the consequences, which is a ticked off public. Kiss your jobs goodbye.
From the WSJ, Verizon and Caterpillar both announced to employees today that they should expect to see a jump in the cost of their health insurance premiums very soon. They may also face a reduction of services. There is your first hand lesson in reality Libs. It's economics 101. When demand increases and supply remains the same, cost goes up. So now you watch, who's going to pay for this? The question is finally answered. Anybody making over 50,000 per year will be paying. So much for Obama’s promise about not taxing the middle class.
In other news, Michigan Congressman Dingell slipped up and said that Obamacare will control the people. Yeah, pretty much. Can’t blame the man for telling the truth. And he’s too old to care much about getting re-elected. House Majority Whip Clyburn is following Carnahan’s lead and saying that the Repbulicans and Tea Party members are terrorists and should be dealt with appropriately.
Keep pushing boys. Keep pushing. Your gonna find out what happens when the government gets too big for it’s britches.

Suffer not the little children

I am laughing my ass off! All the haranging about "Oh we must protect the children. What about the children that are being denied." Now it turns out their law doesn't even cover those children. It's sort of like putting a silk dress on a sow. The cover is pretty, but its still covered in pig shit underneath.

Nobody is even talking about the education piece that was attached to this bill. Sallie Mae is effectively out of business with this law. The governement is now the only one who can give your child a loan to go to college. That means that they pick who gets the loans, how much they are for, and what schools they can go to. Think about that. Just think. Wonder how far behind the addition of an R or D on the application forms are. If your a D you can have as much as you want. An R gets a little and must attend a state sanctioned education (re-education) facility so we can work out all those nasty ambitions towards free will.

The dems are also now afraid to come home. They have received death threats and have had their offices attacked. I seriously doubt that this came from Tea Party groups. More likely it's their own fellow Democrats. They are either following their playbook of bullying people or they are trying to whip up a frenzy against the tea party. If they can convince law enforcement that the tea party is doing it, then they can stop them. Or so they think. They have truly pissed off a bunch of people. I hope they are afraid. I hope they are thinking about the Civil War that is brewing if they don't get their party under control. Keep pushing guys.

Liberals just don't get it

I have spent a big portion of the day on a local paper site "discussing" the legislation that was passed yesterday. The liberals just don't get it. They think that their insurance rates are going to stay the same. They really believe that they are going to be able to get in to see their doctor whenever they want to. Or that all the things that are covered now are going to be covered in the future. They don't think this legislation is going to fund abortions or exclude people with pre-existing conditions. And worst of all, they think the Presidents promise to sign and Executive Order will have any standing.

I urge anyone who reads this blog to download the text of the healthcare bill and read it. It's double spaced and won't even take that long. The contents of the bill are just frightening. They will have direct access to your checking account. They can force you to take out coverage. Pre-existing conditions can legally be charged at a rate of 3 to 1 for a premium (E.G. you pay $200 per month and I pay $600 per month) Smokers can be charged half of the premium rate again. (So now we are up to $900 per month.)

The insurance industry is doomed. All of the rates are going to go up dramatically. The quality of care is going to plummet. And some bureaucrat in Washington is going to decide if I live or die.

The worst travesty, however, is that the constitution has been shredded by this administration. There are currently 11 states filing law suits protesting this expansion of power. Many more are close behind. If ever there was a case for session, this is it. The next joyful thing that we will be presented with is Amnesty for the illegals. This will make sure the United Socialist Progressive Party (AKA the DNC) will get re-elected. Then we will be hit with Cap and Tax. That will finally bring the economy crashing down around us and give Obama the excuse he needs to institute martial law while he takes over. This is all such crap. Old glory is tattered and worn and tired of being tread upon. Let's bring back out the snake who says "Don't tread on me." Let's take our country back.

America is doomed

I have watched the debate and the bs that has gone on all night. The Democratic party should now be renamed the United Socialist party. That poor fool Stupak. He really thinks that the Democratic party will keep their promises. I hope he switches sides after he learns the truth.

This may push us to the brink of civil war. I know that my husband and I are going to Texas is they secede. I wish to God that Missouri would.

Liberals and Catholics? How do the Co-Exist?

I have worked in state government for a long time. In Missouri the majority of the workers in State Government are Catholic. Being a Baptist, I have stepped on the toes of my co-workers several times simply by being ignorant of the Catholic faith. It is amazing to me how much of the Catholic faith is injected into our current Government by the workers. One thing that still confuses me though is this. How can such devout Catholics also be Democratic Liberals?

These devout Catholics support a party that wants to do away with religion and provide federal funds for abortions? I just don't understand how these folks can reconcile these two points of view. Maybe it's because I'm a Baptist and am still ignorant of the traditions. I've been around them a long time, but I don't know what drives this.

I applaude the folks like Stupak who are standing up for their beliefs that they cannot support a bill which provides federal funds for abortions. Good for them. I wish that more politicians were as honest as they are. That more of them could not be bought off with bull crap like the Louisiana Purchase and the Corn Husker Kickback. If they pass this bill tomorrow, I fear that it may be a pivotal point in our nations history. That long awaited moment may be nearing. The south may truly rise again, and tell this Yankee liberal exactly where he can put his thermometer.

Pelosi Prays? Oh my!

Nancy… What will your constituents say?! You’re praying? And to a Catholic Saint? Oh my. Garofolo will be so disappointed that you still have such primitive beliefs. Civilized people such as you should no longer need the archaic belief in religion.

I listened to her press conference. Every time I see her I think of the wicked witch of the west. (If only we could drop a house on her.) Her claims are so ridiculous. She said in her conference that they had gathered small children together to hear them speak about why this healthcare bill was so important to them. That they had children there as young as six weeks old. Tell me something Nancy, what did the six week old children tell you about the bill? Did they give you some more arm twisting tactics? Kids don’t give a damn! They want ice cream and to go play video games!

Now we have the leak that the only way they got the cost of the Obamacare plan down was to remove the doc fix, which is almost half a billion dollars. If they pass this monster you had all better start learning to speak Chinese, because they are going to own us.

Anyone with any experience in business knows that the first thing that will happen is the skyrocketing of health care costs. They may be forced to provide a diabetic like me with insurance, but the government hasn’t said how much they can charge. Last time I checked, private insurance on myself would run approximately $1500.00 per month. And that was with a one year exclusionary period for anything related to diabetes. So, you think that if they make them cover me I’m going to get a better deal? I anticipate private insurance for myself to go up to around $2500.00 per month.

We have already seen some of the fall out from this bill. My youngest son does not meet the height and weight requirements for health insurance. He is too tall and too heavy for a child his age according to their charts. The company we purchased his private insurance through (the reason for that is a whole different saga) decided they wanted out of the insurance game and they didn’t want to insure any high risk candidates. (Apparently being 5' 11" and 200lbs at 13 is a risk.) His rate jumped in January from 112$ per month to over 435$ per month. Needless to say we had to shop around and find new insurance. And that is with the bill just under consideration! What do you think it will do if this thing passes!!!! All of us will be paying the fine for not having health care. Or we will all be on medicare because we have lost everything we own because we got sick. This will only compound the problem, not fix it.

Health Insurance Woes

My son is too tall for his age? I have one son who is on the heavy side. He is 5 foot six and 200 pounds. He is a big farm boy. His insurance company has decided that they want none of Obamas socialized medicine, so they are trying to get out of the Medical Insurance. His premiums, on January 1, will jump from 71$ per month to 451$ per month. That is a bit steep for my wallet, as I suspect it would be for any of us. So we started shopping around for insurance.

The answer we got back is that his height weight ratio are outside the limits for his age. The height and the weight are fine for an adult, but he is too tall for his age. I have never heard of such ridiculous....Oh wait, yes I have. Socialized medicine in America. That beats the height weight ratio.

Obama has acheived his goal of equalizing health care for all. Now nobody can get health care, just like the poor people. Unless your an illegal alien, or a drug dealer. Then you get all the free health care you want. Hmm, maybe I should immegrate to Mexico and then sneak back across the border. Would somebody give medical attention to a middle aged diabetic then? It's worth considering.

My first town hall

I went to my first town hall last night. I didn’t get to go in, but what an eye opening experience. I thought I had met some liberals before, but I was wrong. I also met some very hard right wing characters too. If I have led you to believe that I am a republican, I apologize. I am neither Democratic nor Republican. I would prefer to be part of the Common Sense party. Let me tell you about my experience standing in line.

When we arrived at Lewis and Clark Middle School, the police had the parking lot blocked off. No one was allowed to park at the school. So, we drove four blocks to park at the side of the road along the street in a housing sub division. Now, keep in mind, my mother, who has two artificial knees, is with me. Lewis and Clark is situated on a hillside that is steep enough it has the truck warning signs. Not a fun place to walk with artificial knees. (I wonder what they did about the handicapped people.) Anyway, we start walking back to the school. Immediately a young man and an older woman come up behind us. The guy is already agitated and is looking to pick a fight. He talks to the woman behind us who announces that she is a social worker and a socialist. (I remember a time when people did not proudly proclaim that they were socialists in America.) Mom and I decide to stay away from them.

When we finally climb the hill and the stairs, we see the line. It stretches around the building, down the sidewalk, and past the school. Keep in mind that we are here 45 minutes early. We stand in line and wait. The organizers for Pro Healthcare reform are walking up and down the line handing out stickers and trying to get people to sign petitions. One lady walks by handing out pro-life information about how the healthcare bill will fund abortion. Now truthfully I was as repulsed by her as I was by the others, but as she walked by and said “This explains how the healthcare reform will fund abortion.” A man from the other side walks the opposite direction, handing out stickers as he goes, looking like he just came from Woodstock, and says to the crowd “Yes, and that’s just how it should be.” …. I support a woman’s right to choose. I think we’re stupid if we think we are going to prevent it, but this guy went too far. It wasn’t what his words said, but how he said them. He was not promoting the right to have an abortion; he was promoting everyone having an abortion. It was so creepy.

The two women behind us start talking and engage us. They are pro healthcare, I am not. I stated right off the bat that I will fight for her right to disagree with me, but I will fight for my right to disagree with her too. She made the statement “I don’t know what they want people who cannot afford their medicine to do. Have a bake sale?” At that point I could not keep my big mouth shut. I turned around and said “Yes, that’s exactly what they should do. When someone is hurt the community comes together and helps them out. We attended a benefit Saturday that raised $14,000 for a man who was injured in a wreck and needed help.” She was flabbergasted. She really didn’t know what to say. She finally came back with “Well that’s fine for him, but what about the rest.” We then got into the standard “Why should I pay for your healthcare?” and “Who said your going to pay?” followed by “Is the money going to magically appear? It’s got to come from somewhere.” Thrust and parry.

At some point the guy in front of us jumped in championing Medicare and the Veterans Commission. The gal behind us said her father was receiving wonderful care at the VA and had a direct line to his doctor. I told her about our horror fest of dealing with Medicare and the VA when Grandpa had cancer and how it would take a week to get a return call from the doctor, medicine wouldn’t be filled, treatments were delayed, etc., etc.

We continued this as we moved towards the door. The cops kept warning us “Only 376 people will be allowed in due to fire code.” Fifteen people from us they stopped the line announcing they were now at capacity. Disheartened and disappointed mom and I turned around and headed back to the car. The only heartening thing was that as we walked back we were surrounded by like minded people. Amazing, I just happened to hit a crazy pocket in line.

The whole experience left me saddened for our country that we have proud socialists roaming the street and running our government and people who have been led so far down the primrose path that they believe money will magically appear to pay for everything everyone wants. This has always been the problem with Socialism, Communism, and Marxism. It’s a beautiful theory, until you realize that the food doesn’t harvest itself and money doesn’t grow on trees. I saw a bumper sticker on the way out that pretty well summarizes it. “Socialism is a wonderful thing…until you run out of other peoples money.”

Healthcare or Total Control

I am so proud of the American People for finally waking up and seeing the bull crap that our politicians are feeding us. I have done something that many of our Senators have not. I have read this blasted Healthcare bill. Oh, I know, that's not the one in the Senate. They have four or five versions in the Senate, so how could I know what is in the bill. That from my own Senator McCaskill here in Missouri. Well, this is what was presented to the Senate so this is the basis. Euthenasia is included in this bill, cleverly disguised by pretty words like "End of Life Counseling". What it boils down to, on Page 432, is that the government is going to set standards for end of life care that will be applied evenly to all cases. If your over 60, you aren't going to get that pacemaker. Unless of course you donate a significant amount to the Democratic Party that year.

They also have an opening to come into our homes and address the "Mental, Physical, and Emotional Welfare" of our children and prescibe a "government approved course of accepted instruction" which will be monitored to make sure we are teaching them what the government wants. This is from page 887. There is also enough vagueness in there to cover abortion services and provides enough latitude to control every aspect of what we eat if we are overweight.

I really want to know why the Secretary of Health and Human Services is collaborating with the Director of the Department of Defense to identify person described in paragraph (x) to track said person and ensure compliance, throughout the bill. Sounds like the armed forces is going to be used to enforce compliance to me. Open the bill and search for Defense. You'll find the references.

Thank god you people are finally taking off your color blinders and seeing the truth. I don't care if this man is purple, he is a socialist! It has nothing to do with his skin color and everything to do with his radical left wing belief system. It has everything to do with his intense hatred of white people and his desire for reparations to the black community! I have some very dear black friends, and even they are starting to be afraid of this man.

I honestly believe that if you were born after 1960, skin color really doesn't make that much difference any more. All you have to do is look around to see how many mixed race couples with kids there are in every city in America. Maybe when we're all the color of caffe au latte you people will give the race card a rest.

I fear for our country right now. I can see civil war down one of the paths if we don't get our government in control soon. People are fed up with the this crap. We are tired of the nanny state and the left wing whackos. We are tired of the right wing whackos! The day has come when it is un-PC to call ourselves American. We are now supposed to refer to ourselves a Citizens of the United States. Our teenagers are now Youth. Illegal Aliens are now "Historically Under Represented Socio Ethnic Groups". I am so sick of Political Correctness that I want to puke.

Let's get back to our roots. White, Black, Mexican, India, etc. It doesn't matter. We are all AMERICANS! And the America that I know doesn't need socilistic policies. Our churches and community groups took care of the people in need. We have become too big and faceless of a society for that to work any more. We need to get to know our neighbors. At least the ones that don't smoke crack. We need to care for our fellow man without a government mandate to do so. And we need to buck up and be human beings. All you vegans out there... Eat a sandwich for gods sake and come back down to earth. Peta... go to hell. Everybody just keep up making these asses responsible for the messes they make. Go baby go.

An Open Letter To Senator McCaskill

Dear Senator McCaskill,
First of all, I am amazed at the number of my friends that have contacted you and got the exact same canned response. We talk about this a lot, and we have absolutely nothing to do with the Insurance Industry. We are average Missouri citizens from all walks of life, and we are very unhappy with your response. I really hope your aides read this and pass this message along to you. WE DON’T WANT HEALTHCARE REFORM!!!! My healthcare is my business. I prefer to let the market drive our system because I believe in free trade. I am a diabetic and I don’t want to have to wait for six months to see a doctor. I also don’t want you to write me off because I cost the system too much. I have dealt with both the Veterans Administration and Medicare when my grandfather became older and developed cancer. If either of those two organizations are indications of what our healthcare would become I can tell you that I want NOTHING to do with it.
You and your colleagues on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension Committee and on the Finance Committee are NOT listening to the people who voted for you! If you want to cover all of the illegal aliens in the country please do not do it with my tax dollars! Do not force the healthy people of this country who do not want to spend their money on healthcare to do just that. I also think you have quite enough of my information. If I wanted to share my medical records with Congress I would give it to them. I have no desire to wait for months for a doctor’s visit and more months for scheduled tests. I don’t want my medicine rationed or denied because it costs too much.
You are correct about one thing. The longer you ignore the people who voted for you the worse it will get and you will find yourself without a job come next election. Start listening to the public and Vote NO on Healthcare Reform!
