Oil Spill and Green Energy

How many times is Obama going to repackage Cap and Tax?  Until he gets it passed I suppose.  We rejected it when they presented it as a Global Warming combat measure.  Unfortunately it was at the same time that Climate Gate broke and the coldest spring in 25 years hit the US.  I have to give credit to you guys, some of you actually woke up and paid attention to that load of bullshit.  I have hope for you yet.

So then they repackaged it as a Jobs bill.  The one's that woke up for the Climate Gate debacle were still awake however.  We looked at what happened in Spain when they implemented a green energy bill.  They lost 2.5 jobs for every 1 green job that was created.  I read this morning that each green job created also took $774,000 in government subsidies to get it going.  Damn!  I wish they would give me $774,000 and then leave me the hell alone.  With that type of cash and a free market I could employ 100 people at a small business.  Anyway, we didn't buy the jobs package either.

So now, in Rahms' words, he isn't letting a good disaster go to waste.  Perhaps Obama is thinking the third time is the charm.  They are now repackaging the Cap and Tax as an environmental bill.  They are trying very hard to link it to the oil spill.  The bill will have nothing to do with drilling, well management, or even ecological recovery efforts.  What it will do is impose new taxes on small business because of the size of their "carbon footprint".  But it's the "socially responsible" thing to do.  You have to wonder why the Coast Guard is throwing up barriers, the State of Louisiana is being denied the ability to set up barrier islands, and none of the proven ingenious ways the public has provided to soak up the oil are being used.  IMHO if something does clean it up, then there is no more crisis and he has nothing to push his Cap and Tax bill with.  Wouldn't that be sad?  If the President of the United States allowed this horrible ecological disaster to continue because of his political agenda?  I'll put some coffee on and you sleepy heads can think about that one.
