Education Czar or MBLA member?

Ok, I have gay friends and they do not run around trying to convert me to become a lesbian. They also don't rove the streets looking for people they can attack and have sex with. And above all they don't recommend reading to me that involves detailed information about how lesbians have sex. So what does that have to do with the annoited one's appointed Education Czar? Take a look: http://biggovernment.com/2009/12/07/fistgate-barack-obamas-safe-schools-czars-2000-conference-promoted-fisting-to-14-year-olds/

If you want to see something disturbing, start reading the down that recommended reading list. "Hey Sailor" and "The Boy Who Cried Fabulous!" as recommended reading for K-6 grade? In K-6 grade the last thing these kids need to be worried about is their SEX LIFE! I would hope they wouldn't fall into that until the hormones kicked in, around the 7th or 8th grade. I am raising two boys and have been a teacher. I'm not so naive as to think that kids are not going to be sexually active or curious, but I don't believe in shoving them into sexual activity at the earliest possible moment. And of shoving them into a GAY sexual lifestyle to boot!!!

Some of these books are probably on the MBLA (Man Boy Love Association) recommended reading list. Just like Van Jones, this guy needs to go! Contact your Senators and Congressmen. Let them know that we don't appreciate our kids sexual orientation being choosen for our children by the government and their tainted reading lists.

Health Insurance Woes

My son is too tall for his age? I have one son who is on the heavy side. He is 5 foot six and 200 pounds. He is a big farm boy. His insurance company has decided that they want none of Obamas socialized medicine, so they are trying to get out of the Medical Insurance. His premiums, on January 1, will jump from 71$ per month to 451$ per month. That is a bit steep for my wallet, as I suspect it would be for any of us. So we started shopping around for insurance.

The answer we got back is that his height weight ratio are outside the limits for his age. The height and the weight are fine for an adult, but he is too tall for his age. I have never heard of such ridiculous....Oh wait, yes I have. Socialized medicine in America. That beats the height weight ratio.

Obama has acheived his goal of equalizing health care for all. Now nobody can get health care, just like the poor people. Unless your an illegal alien, or a drug dealer. Then you get all the free health care you want. Hmm, maybe I should immegrate to Mexico and then sneak back across the border. Would somebody give medical attention to a middle aged diabetic then? It's worth considering.

Remove Van Jones - An Open Letter to Congress

The comments made by the President’s Green Czar are beyond offensive. This man is a self avowed communist and has denounced America as evil. I do not want my tax dollars paying this man’s salary. If any of the Republican Party members had made such a comment as his in regards to the Democratic Party, they would have immediately been labeled as a racist and bigot. Well I am tired of giving this man a pass, just because he is black. I demand that you issue an immediate call for this man’s dismissal as well as an apology for his words to the Berkley energy meeting.
Not only is this man offensive to me, but under Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution of the United States, this man’s position is illegal. If he is granted departmental power, such as directing the use of funds for Green Jobs, his position must be vetted and approved by Congress, otherwise his only actions can be to give the president advice. All of the President’s Czars are obviously in positions of power, not advisory. Congress needs to immediately demand that the President either establishes an appointment process with the approval of Congress or remove these Czar’s. This is not Russia!

My first town hall

I went to my first town hall last night. I didn’t get to go in, but what an eye opening experience. I thought I had met some liberals before, but I was wrong. I also met some very hard right wing characters too. If I have led you to believe that I am a republican, I apologize. I am neither Democratic nor Republican. I would prefer to be part of the Common Sense party. Let me tell you about my experience standing in line.

When we arrived at Lewis and Clark Middle School, the police had the parking lot blocked off. No one was allowed to park at the school. So, we drove four blocks to park at the side of the road along the street in a housing sub division. Now, keep in mind, my mother, who has two artificial knees, is with me. Lewis and Clark is situated on a hillside that is steep enough it has the truck warning signs. Not a fun place to walk with artificial knees. (I wonder what they did about the handicapped people.) Anyway, we start walking back to the school. Immediately a young man and an older woman come up behind us. The guy is already agitated and is looking to pick a fight. He talks to the woman behind us who announces that she is a social worker and a socialist. (I remember a time when people did not proudly proclaim that they were socialists in America.) Mom and I decide to stay away from them.

When we finally climb the hill and the stairs, we see the line. It stretches around the building, down the sidewalk, and past the school. Keep in mind that we are here 45 minutes early. We stand in line and wait. The organizers for Pro Healthcare reform are walking up and down the line handing out stickers and trying to get people to sign petitions. One lady walks by handing out pro-life information about how the healthcare bill will fund abortion. Now truthfully I was as repulsed by her as I was by the others, but as she walked by and said “This explains how the healthcare reform will fund abortion.” A man from the other side walks the opposite direction, handing out stickers as he goes, looking like he just came from Woodstock, and says to the crowd “Yes, and that’s just how it should be.” …. I support a woman’s right to choose. I think we’re stupid if we think we are going to prevent it, but this guy went too far. It wasn’t what his words said, but how he said them. He was not promoting the right to have an abortion; he was promoting everyone having an abortion. It was so creepy.

The two women behind us start talking and engage us. They are pro healthcare, I am not. I stated right off the bat that I will fight for her right to disagree with me, but I will fight for my right to disagree with her too. She made the statement “I don’t know what they want people who cannot afford their medicine to do. Have a bake sale?” At that point I could not keep my big mouth shut. I turned around and said “Yes, that’s exactly what they should do. When someone is hurt the community comes together and helps them out. We attended a benefit Saturday that raised $14,000 for a man who was injured in a wreck and needed help.” She was flabbergasted. She really didn’t know what to say. She finally came back with “Well that’s fine for him, but what about the rest.” We then got into the standard “Why should I pay for your healthcare?” and “Who said your going to pay?” followed by “Is the money going to magically appear? It’s got to come from somewhere.” Thrust and parry.

At some point the guy in front of us jumped in championing Medicare and the Veterans Commission. The gal behind us said her father was receiving wonderful care at the VA and had a direct line to his doctor. I told her about our horror fest of dealing with Medicare and the VA when Grandpa had cancer and how it would take a week to get a return call from the doctor, medicine wouldn’t be filled, treatments were delayed, etc., etc.

We continued this as we moved towards the door. The cops kept warning us “Only 376 people will be allowed in due to fire code.” Fifteen people from us they stopped the line announcing they were now at capacity. Disheartened and disappointed mom and I turned around and headed back to the car. The only heartening thing was that as we walked back we were surrounded by like minded people. Amazing, I just happened to hit a crazy pocket in line.

The whole experience left me saddened for our country that we have proud socialists roaming the street and running our government and people who have been led so far down the primrose path that they believe money will magically appear to pay for everything everyone wants. This has always been the problem with Socialism, Communism, and Marxism. It’s a beautiful theory, until you realize that the food doesn’t harvest itself and money doesn’t grow on trees. I saw a bumper sticker on the way out that pretty well summarizes it. “Socialism is a wonderful thing…until you run out of other peoples money.”

Healthcare or Total Control

I am so proud of the American People for finally waking up and seeing the bull crap that our politicians are feeding us. I have done something that many of our Senators have not. I have read this blasted Healthcare bill. Oh, I know, that's not the one in the Senate. They have four or five versions in the Senate, so how could I know what is in the bill. That from my own Senator McCaskill here in Missouri. Well, this is what was presented to the Senate so this is the basis. Euthenasia is included in this bill, cleverly disguised by pretty words like "End of Life Counseling". What it boils down to, on Page 432, is that the government is going to set standards for end of life care that will be applied evenly to all cases. If your over 60, you aren't going to get that pacemaker. Unless of course you donate a significant amount to the Democratic Party that year.

They also have an opening to come into our homes and address the "Mental, Physical, and Emotional Welfare" of our children and prescibe a "government approved course of accepted instruction" which will be monitored to make sure we are teaching them what the government wants. This is from page 887. There is also enough vagueness in there to cover abortion services and provides enough latitude to control every aspect of what we eat if we are overweight.

I really want to know why the Secretary of Health and Human Services is collaborating with the Director of the Department of Defense to identify person described in paragraph (x) to track said person and ensure compliance, throughout the bill. Sounds like the armed forces is going to be used to enforce compliance to me. Open the bill and search for Defense. You'll find the references.

Thank god you people are finally taking off your color blinders and seeing the truth. I don't care if this man is purple, he is a socialist! It has nothing to do with his skin color and everything to do with his radical left wing belief system. It has everything to do with his intense hatred of white people and his desire for reparations to the black community! I have some very dear black friends, and even they are starting to be afraid of this man.

I honestly believe that if you were born after 1960, skin color really doesn't make that much difference any more. All you have to do is look around to see how many mixed race couples with kids there are in every city in America. Maybe when we're all the color of caffe au latte you people will give the race card a rest.

I fear for our country right now. I can see civil war down one of the paths if we don't get our government in control soon. People are fed up with the this crap. We are tired of the nanny state and the left wing whackos. We are tired of the right wing whackos! The day has come when it is un-PC to call ourselves American. We are now supposed to refer to ourselves a Citizens of the United States. Our teenagers are now Youth. Illegal Aliens are now "Historically Under Represented Socio Ethnic Groups". I am so sick of Political Correctness that I want to puke.

Let's get back to our roots. White, Black, Mexican, India, etc. It doesn't matter. We are all AMERICANS! And the America that I know doesn't need socilistic policies. Our churches and community groups took care of the people in need. We have become too big and faceless of a society for that to work any more. We need to get to know our neighbors. At least the ones that don't smoke crack. We need to care for our fellow man without a government mandate to do so. And we need to buck up and be human beings. All you vegans out there... Eat a sandwich for gods sake and come back down to earth. Peta... go to hell. Everybody just keep up making these asses responsible for the messes they make. Go baby go.

An Open Letter To Senator McCaskill

Dear Senator McCaskill,
First of all, I am amazed at the number of my friends that have contacted you and got the exact same canned response. We talk about this a lot, and we have absolutely nothing to do with the Insurance Industry. We are average Missouri citizens from all walks of life, and we are very unhappy with your response. I really hope your aides read this and pass this message along to you. WE DON’T WANT HEALTHCARE REFORM!!!! My healthcare is my business. I prefer to let the market drive our system because I believe in free trade. I am a diabetic and I don’t want to have to wait for six months to see a doctor. I also don’t want you to write me off because I cost the system too much. I have dealt with both the Veterans Administration and Medicare when my grandfather became older and developed cancer. If either of those two organizations are indications of what our healthcare would become I can tell you that I want NOTHING to do with it.
You and your colleagues on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension Committee and on the Finance Committee are NOT listening to the people who voted for you! If you want to cover all of the illegal aliens in the country please do not do it with my tax dollars! Do not force the healthy people of this country who do not want to spend their money on healthcare to do just that. I also think you have quite enough of my information. If I wanted to share my medical records with Congress I would give it to them. I have no desire to wait for months for a doctor’s visit and more months for scheduled tests. I don’t want my medicine rationed or denied because it costs too much.
You are correct about one thing. The longer you ignore the people who voted for you the worse it will get and you will find yourself without a job come next election. Start listening to the public and Vote NO on Healthcare Reform!

Swine Flu, Natural or by design?

Well, I haven't written in a few days because I've been laid up with some kind of virus. They assure me that since I haven't been to Mexico that it can't be the swine flu. Although my whole family caught it within 48 hours of one another and we are all hacking our heads off.

Calling it the Swine Flu isn't exactly right, however. Not because Napolitano refuses to call it that either. She refuses to call it terrorism, choosing to call it a "Man Caused Disaster". What a load of bull. Swine flu isn't exactly right because this mutation contains avian, human and swine elements. I should have bought a lottery ticket. Do you know what the odds of that combination happening in nature are? About a bazillion to one. (AKA bigger than Obama's budget.LOL)

Call me paranoid, but it seems to me that someone has been playing with their chemistry set. How convenient that this appeared just south of our border. That the first case and first death occurred in a Mexican child who was "visiting" relatives. Wonder how long he was visiting for? That's too catty. I apologize, but I am tired of no one paying attention to illegal immigrants crossing the border. It would be very convenient for the Muslim Militants to drop this virus in a Mexican population whom was known to be crossing the border. They don't care about the Mexican people and they know it will cross into the US with all the illegal immigrants. Obama refuses to close our border as long as potential voters are crossing. Would serve him and us right if my paranoia pans out. Him for not listening and us for voting the idiot in.

Even if this turns out to be a natural event, what does this show the terrorists? How easy it would be to bring panic to the US? How quickly they could bring on the Armegeddon that they so desire? Somebody better start paying attention before Stephan King's "The Stand" becomes reality.

Liar Liar, Pants on Fire

Well Pelosi has the proverbial mammary gland in a ringer this time doesn't she. First she new nothing about the enhanced interogation, then she had heard of it but didn't know we were using it. Oh yeah, but she forgot that there were, not just one, but several, written records of her having been briefed extensively on the use of the enhanced interogation techniques. Not to mention the fact that she steered 25 million of the tarp funds to her husbands company. Or any of the other stunts she has pulled. Man it sucks when your own witch hunt bites you in the butt.

Obamas team seems to have a large problem with either their memory or their integrity. Our chief of homeland security put her foot in her mouth again today. So bad that CNN even reported on the call for her resignation. It was sandwiched between a story on an elephant getting lifted by a crane and some robins on the whitehouse lawn hatching. (What is with CNN and their animal stories? Did PETA take them over?)

The director of the IRS is a tax cheat, as well as several other members of the cabinet. He just can't seem to hang on to his folks. I don't dislike Obama because he's black. I dislike him because he is classic corrupt Chicago Politics in the white house mixed in with Socialist values. Maybe, like Pelosi, if we give him enough rope he will do like her and hang himself?

Gay Marriage. Hmmm, Why not?

Ok, I was raised southern Baptist. My upbringing told me that being gay was wrong. Course my religion also told me that I was going to hell for the sins of my mother and father. Argh! Bad memories. We won't go there. I have a panic attack every time I think about it.

Ok, so here is where I vary from the Republicans again. I don't think two men or two women should marry. Does that mean that I should prevent them? No, I don't think so. I also don't think it's right for the poligamy of the Mormons to be illegal. There are other religions and beliefs in this world than mine. Just because I don't think it's right doesn't mean I should prevent it from happening. I think that two men or two women should at the very least be afforded the privledge of having a civil union. If two people want to dedicate their lives to each other, more power to them. I have been married for twenty years this June and it was the best decision of my life. My husband and I are still very much in love. My life would be very empty without him. Why would I want to deny that joy to two other people? What they do in their bedroom is their business as long as they are over the age of consent. If a group of people of the same belief want to share their lives following their faith and their beliefs, let them. I have known both gays and mormons who are very good people and follow their hearts. The persecution they receive is very similar to the baloney that goes on over in Gaza. Let it go people.

So what if the thought of gay sex makes you ill. Seeing people eat chicken livers makes me ill. Should we outlaw that? Buck up and leave people alone. And if you tell me I'm not conservative because of that, well fine. My view on life is everyone should mind their own damn business and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

The awful truth - War is Ugly

It seems to me that the left wing has this outrageous idea that war can somehow be a polite affair. Our current presidents about face on the potential prosecution of former administration officials falls right in line with this. They just don't get it. War is an ugly, dirty, nasty affair, as it well should be. The horrors of war should act as a deterrent to war in the first place. We should not treat war lightly or with casual indifference, but with a cautious attitude as a last resort.

The people of California should be most grateful because our "torture" of these killers prevented them from being hit. For all we know, they would be a smoking ruin without these techniques. The enemy certainly doesn't have any moral issue with cutting our peoples heads off while they scream. They have no problem raping women from their own people to gain information. I haven't seen that particular tactic in our military yet.

So let's look deeper. Why does President Obama want to out our interrogation techniques, stop the use of them, punish our officials who use them, and leave us open to more attacks? Some of my more paranoid friends say he wants us to get hit so he can use FEMA to suspend government and have a complete takeover. Others believe he wants us to get hit so he can use the opportunity to have a bigger power grab. And finally, there is the possibility that he is just that stupid. I think I fall somewhere in between my paranoid friends and the ones who think its a power grab. I think he does have a reason. Is it a messianic complex so he can appear the savior? I don't know what his reason is, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like it. I don't think any american lives should be lost because the left wants to make our country vulnerable.

Why we should legalize Pot.

I do not smoke pot. I have not smoked pot. Even if they legalize it I most likely will not smoke pot. So why the heck do I want to legalize it? Because I watched my grandfather go through two very painful bouts of cancer before it claimed his life. Because I have watched people with glucoma go blind when it could have helped. And why the hell is it illegal anyway?

It's not a violent drug like cocaine or meth. You don't go crazy for it when you run out. People who smoke pot don't generally kill little old ladies for their jewelry so they can score another dime bag. People who smoke pot don't run around the neighborhood with a baseball bat killing the demons trying to eat their brains. They will sit naked in a beanbag eating cheetos. They will lay on the couch and laugh their ass off at something, we're not quite sure what, but something.

Pot on the whole is much less harmful than alcohol and more medicinally beneficial. It could have alleviated much of my grandpa's pain during chemo. It could have stimulated him appetite so that he didn't get down to 98 pounds.

And think of what it could do for the economy. We came out of the great depression by legalizing alcohol. The taxes generated off of it would pay off the Dems trillion dollar fiasco of a bailout. Thousands of new jobs would be created. The american farmer would be revitalized with a new cash crop. I would think all these old Dem Hippies would love to legalize pot. It would be a dream come true. We would instantly become the number one vacation spot in the world. So why would they not want to legalize it? Because it would fix the problems they have created? Because it would empower more people? Hmmm. It's time for a change. He promised change, so where is it. All I see is more of the same.

Janine, you ignorant $lut...

Yes, if you are old enough to recognize the reference to SNL original, your in my neck of the woods. I just finished watching that idiot Janine Garofalo. For someone who claims to be a "cerebral" and who likes to inflate her speech with "big words", she has resorted to one of the oldest fallacies of all times. She actually believes that conservatives have a smaller cerebellum than liberals. After doing a research paper on schizophrenia for my psych course, I can tell you that after extensive MRI studies, brain sizes do not split along political lines. As for all of us being "Ignorant Rednecks", I have to disagree.

Janine, you stupid bit*h. I'm one of those "Ignorant Rednecks" you hold so much disdain for. I graduated from school with a 4.0 and from college with a 3.78. I hold a masters degree in Computer Information Systems and am a certified Project Management Professional. I also have an IQ of 136, the last time I was tested. How high is your IQ Ms. Garofalo? You and your associates at MSNBC seemed to have quite the time with your puns on teabagging. Is that because you weren't smart enough to rise up out of the gutteral humor that you wallowed in?

For your continued information, Janine, I am not a racist. I happen to have several black friends, and guess what. They think you suck too!!!! I wonder who would score higher on a history test about the Boston Tea Party? You and your high and mighty friends who like to blow air up each others skirt tails and make yourself feel important while actually knowing very little about the history of this great nation and what our founding fathers stood for. Things like taxation without representation. Or those of us who showed up at the tea parties. Not by the tens, as you would have us believe, but by the thousands and millions across the nation. Those of us who feel like the politicians in Washington, regardless of race and color, are out for nothing but a power grab and are burdening our children with the debt of their mistakes. When politicians tax the people against the will of the people, for reasons that the people don't agree with, that is taxation without representation.

I don't care if President Obama is purple, you self loathing biggoted, wench. If anyone is racist it is you, for even thinking that race comes into play. Does that mean that Govenor Jindal is racist too? He's a conservative, and, oh yeah... he's Indian. Hmm, he must implicitly hate blacks as well, huh. You, Ms. Garofalo, are one of the most messed up individuals I have ever heard. Please, seek psychological help immediately. I'd pray for you, but I think you might disappear in a puff of smoke if I did. Like a vampire hit by the sun.

Tax Day Tea Partys Rock!

The tea parties across America had the largest turnout of any protest in US history. These are the kinds of domestic terrorist acts that us right wing conservatives perpetrate. Oooohhhh, we are so violent. An organized, civil protest with no riots and the innocuous use of Tea Bags. Lipton should thank us for the stimulus provided by the free market.

I again participated in my radio experiment. I had a long drive the 14th so I listened to CNN. For 45 minutes there was not one word of tax day or tea parties. Fox, NBC, ABC all had stories. On CNN they talked about the new dog at the white house and other human interest stories. Now MSNBC makes fun of the tea parties and calls everyone who participated tea baggers. CNN's reporters refuse to take a neutral stance and try to paint the participants as out of control. This just gets more Orwellian each day. But the turn out yesterday gives me some hope. Pelosi can make fun of us all she wants, but we voted her ass in, and we can vote her out. I am not a republican or a democrat. I am a libertarian. And I think more Americans are turning to this point of view every day. Perhaps this is the third party we need, if it can overcome the stigmas and be taken seriously.

Grandma is a terrorist kids!

This is getting ridiculous. I am now classified a terrorist because I have an NRA sticker on my truck, I like to hunt, and I don't agree with the direction President Obama is taking our country. Oh yeah, I forgot, that makes me a biggot too.

Not only is my home state of Missouri producing these bull crap reports about profiling people who have non-mainstream bumper stickers and are conservative, now the Homeland Security people have produced a similar item? I have a theory as to why these a$$holes are painting vets as terrorists. They are afraid that the American people are going to get fed up with the socialist ideologies that they are ramming down our throats and will stage a revolution.

So, does this mean that I am now at the top of the FBI domestic terrorist list? Because I believe in Democracy and free speech? Then so be it. Watch out kids, we can't see Grandma any more. She's a terrorist.

No longer a Christian Nation? What country does Obama live in?

In his speech in Turkey this week, President Obama stated "We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.." What I want to know is where the heck does this man live? Last time I checked, in our small town of 300+ people we had one Catholic, one Luthern, and two baptist churches (one is four miles outside of town). There were no Mosques or Buddist shrines. There are no temples. We still put up Christmas Ornaments and no one has sued us yet.

And the slobbering media is feeding this idea. The articles about the downfall of Christianity in America and how God is dead. We have an attorney general nominee Harold Koh endorses Sharia law and the Democratic Sentators refuse to say that Sharia Law is barbaric and illegal in the United States.

So, what do we have here? First Obama nominates a man to be our top attorney who appreciates Sharia Law, a batch of coins are produced sans "In God We Trust" as a 'mistake', then he kisses the crotch of the Saudi King, then he travels all over Europe basically apologizing for the existence of the US for the last 200 years, and finally telling the Turks that we are not Christians anymore. So single handedly Obama has wiped Christianity in the US and has made buddies with Europe. OMG! Ooops. I forgot, we aren't Christian. Holy Ala! Why was I so blind? Following such a pagen god as god. Having the audacity to show my face in public and mingle with men. Why I should be stoned.

You think I jest, but if the sheeple of this nation do not wake up that is exactly where we will be. I would think that at least the liberal rights Women of this country would start to feel uncomfortable with all this crap. They are working up to undo 200 years of working towards women's rights. You will go back to being the chattle of your husbands with no voting rights. Your husband will be able to beat you at will or chop your head off if he pleases, like the TV Exec down in Florida. How loud do we have to scream before you idots wake up!????

I will NOT apologize for being American!

What is the deal? Why is Obama over seas in the first place. Europe doesn't vote in our elections. I don't give a hoot if Turkey likes us or not. Why the hell is he apologizing for America?! And why is he kissing the crotch of the Saudi King? Why isn't the mainstream slobbering media talking about that crap? Gee, I wonder. Wake up sheeple, or you will all be under Sharia law. Personally, I will get stoned to death before I wrap up in a black scarf from head to toe.

This is the essence of the guild ridden left wing that runs our nation. They are guilty that they are successful. They are self loathing that they have more freedom than anywhere else in the world. And they are doing all that they can to reverse this so they can alleviate that guilt. Well here's some advice for you suckers. GET A GD THERAPIST AND GET OVER IT.

I have been paying attention lately to all the people who say they didn't vote for him. It is overwhelmingly running 8 to 1. So my question is, how the hell did he get elected? I would be interested to know how many states where he won had a Democratic Secretary of State. I am not making any accusations, but it is an interesting question. I know how easy it would be for one IT person to skew the databases that handle the vote counts. I also know how easy it is for an SOS to skew the results by throwing out batches of votes that could swing it one way or another.

But I digress once again into how corrupt our government is. Back to the point. I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE for BEING AMERICAN!!!! I love my country and I love being an American. I do NOT love the direction our coutry is headed and I think we need to wake up and stop this crap. Go attend the tea parties. Organize protests so that McCaskill and her ilk know exactly how pissed off we are. Let them know that the Clinging Rednecks are fed up and won't take it anymore.

Senate Bill 773 - We lose the last frontier of free speech

What is Senate Bill 773? Well, here is the report from Computer World that explains it pretty well:
Link to Article

"April 6, 2009 (Computerworld) Two U.S. senators last week proposed legislation that would give federal officials new powers to create and enforce data security standards for key parts of the private sector — and even shut down systems in some cases.

The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 would empower the National Institute of Standards and Technology to set "measurable and auditable" security standards for all networks and systems run by federal agencies, government contractors and businesses that support critical infrastructure services.

NIST would also be charged with developing a standard for testing and accrediting software built by or for those groups. In addition, the bill would enable the president to order that critical infrastructure networks be disconnected in the event of cybersecurity emergencies or for reasons of national security.

The bill, which was introduced by Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), doesn't specifically define what would qualify as a critical network or system. "

So aside from owning the newspapers, having a slobbering mainstream media that lives off the mayhem our president creates, he and his supporters want to control our last bastion of truly free speech. I urge you to contact your Senator and tell them to vote against SB-773. Big Brothers reach is expanding. We need to maintain our freedom

I need a new party

Most Republicans believe that Democrats are corrupt. Most Democrats believe that Republicans are corrupt. Most general folks that I know sit in the middle and say "It doesn't matter, they are both corrupt." I believe that we need a new party in this mix.

I am a conservative with some very strong opposition to some of the key values of the Republican party. For one thing, even though my choice would be to never have an abortion, I don't think the government has the right to make that decision for everyone. This is in harsh contrast to the traditional Republican views. My personal experiences have shaped my views on this. A friend who was raped by a boy on the second date and was denied an abortion because she was under 18 shaped this opinion. She had the child and gave it up for adoption because she couldn't deal with seeing that reminder every day. She regretted giving that child up every day and did not seek the child back because she could not stand the reminder. No one deserves that. Two lives were ruined by that one refusal.

I also don't agree with the denial of the marriage right for gays. What really ticks me off is the people who cloak it in religious morality. They only reason they don't allow gays to marry is because of monetary reasons. Insurance companies have lobbied long and hard because they don't want to pay out on claims. They don't give a hoot about religious morality, just their bottom line. The government doesn't like it either because the majority of these couples cannot or do not adopt children to inherit the property. So where does it go? I'm guessing it goes to the government enough of the time to make an impact. I need to do more research on that, but I suspect it's a factor.

Before I make this next point I want to stress the following. I do not do drugs, except for the occasional glass of wine and the cigarettes I smoke. I do not advocate doing drugs. But I am also not stupid enough to think that there people out there who do not do drugs. Our forefathers believed in the individuals right to ruin their lives if that is what they wanted to do. How they accomplished that was up to them. If they chose drink or drug, that was their business. I think we should go back to that fundamental. Therefore I would support the legalization of marijuana. The medical benefits of marijuana alone should legalize it for cancer patients. If my grandfather would have had access to medical mariujana, his last months of life would have been much easier as the cancer took him. The other reason to support it would be the tax benefits we could reap. We came out of the great depression by repealing prohibition. Imagine what we could do with the revenue off the legalization of pot. Of course the response to this is always "So are you going to legalize Meth and Coke too?" The answer is no. Pot mellows people out. I challenge one person to give me an example of violent crime committed by a pothead. Coke and Meth affect people in a way that makes them become violent. Pot makes you lay on the couch and eat Doritos. So there is my third strike for the Republican party.

My big point is that I think the government should butt the hell out of my life. If I want to drink a beer while mowing my lawn I shouldn't receive a DUI. If I want to own guns, get off my case. If I am raped and I don't want to bear the fruit of that violation, I have should have the right to seek an abortion. I don't want to work from January 1 through the 15th of May to pay my taxes. I do want to be able to work and make a good salary without giving it to generational welfare cases simply because I have enough wherewithall to get off my ass and work.

So here is my proposal. Let's start a new party. Lets call it the Foundation party, because it is based on the values and ideals of our founding fathers. Our planks are that government gets the hell out of our lives. States go back to being the driving governance of the land. Taxes are reduced or eliminated. Guns are legal, the constitution is strictly adhered to, and we go back to being the strong America we grew up in. Not this wussy state that the children of the 60's with their free love and communes and ivory tower ideals have left us with.

But that is just my opinion. What's yours?

Disparity in Reporting

My kids jumped me for only watching Fox News and only listening to it on XM. They said "Broaden your Horizons. Listen to both sides." So I did. The quality of reporting is astounding. While tuned to fox news I heard about the FAA Bird Strike scandal, Clinton saying that "War of Terror" is now an off limits term (much like terrorist strike is now a man caused disaster), and some of the ridiculous new legislation that has been introduced.

When I flipped to CNN I heard a bio of the vice president of Venuzuela (I think. It was some socialistic country.) talking about what a wonderful person he was. This gave way to a story about how the animals of the Red River are being hurt by the flooding, which of course is George Bush's fault due to Global Warming. (Give it up already guys, he's out of office.)

Then I flipped to Headline News and heard a couple of human interest stories about wonderful animals. Then some Democratic Senator was on talking about how evil anyone earning over $75,000 per year was and how all the poor people of America were going to be helped by Obama buying their houses with his housing rescue bill.

The quality of reporting between the three stations was astounding. I'm starting to think CNN should be the PETA network with all the animal stories they do. I have yet to hear any of the shocking bills that have been put before the congress. Granted, I can only stomach listening to their drivel for about five minutes at a time, so maybe I just keep missing it. Somehow I have my doubts.

This is what scares me about the Fairness Doctorine, or whatever form of it that they attempt to implement. If they succeed all we will be stuck with is the drivel. Congress will have successfully pulled the wool over the eyes of the nation as a whole. Anyone who reads this, I urge you to write to your Senators and tell them that you don't want any part of the Fairness Doctorine or the Equality in Radio Ownership programs that will force radio station ownership to set racial percentages. Tell them to let the market play out and to let people have the freedom of the press and the airwaves. And if they don't listen, vote their butts out in the next election.

Wouldn't our forefathers be proud?

I suspect that right now George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson are whirling in their graves so fast we could use them in place of electric fans. Perhaps that is the green parties next move to save our energy costs.

What is this malarky about a "Smart Energy Grid"? They have added a PC friendly sounding name to a dark purpose yet again. After all, who wants a dumb enery grid? Me, for one, when a smart one means that the government gets to decide how hot or cold my home should be! That is what your "Smart Energy Grid" is going to do. If this passes, the utility companies will come to your house and install a "Smart Thermostat". This smart thermostat can be remotely controlled by the energy companies, under government regulation, to reset the temperature of your home. If you remove the smart thermostat you will be fined or have your power shut off. Does ANY of this REEK of 1984???!!!!! Wake up America!

What about our illustrious president passing a punitive tax on the folks at AIG? As a consultant and a small business owner, I know that you work long and hard to negotiate salary deals. If these people negotiated a deal prior to receiving the bail out funds then by gosh they should receive them. (Bail out funds they never should have gotten in the first place. But then Mr. Frank and his buddies would have lost their retirement funds and we can't have congress without a retirement fund. How will they ever survive on their pawltry fortunes.) The supreme court says it cannot do anything about this bill that was passed, which clearly violates the constitution, unless someone challenges it. Where the heck are the Republicans! Challenge this thing already! Quit worrying about your frigging poll numbers and DO WHAT IS RIGHT! The sixteenth amenment states that all taxes must be uniformly placed by geographic region. You cannot single out one group of people to punitively tax! That is why we left England in the first place you twit! (Not you, the twits in congress.)

There is a story my ethics professor told me in college. If you drop a frog into hot water he will jump right out. If you put him in cold water and slowly heat it up, he will sit there and boil to death. My question for you is this. How much are you going to take before you get fed up with Big Brother removing your rights one by one? We are moving toward Socialism, not at a radical pace, but slowly, stealthily. Will you jump or boil?

What direction are we going in?

When did it become a crime to be successful? Who decides which companies get to be saved and which ones are on their own? I have been greatly disturbed by our government’s federal bailout of favorite companies this past week. The talk of socialism and the direction our country is heading in has made me do some serious thinking. I have never been one to be accused of keeping my opinions to myself, and I guess I’m too old to start now.

In my work for the State of Missouri I have to keep my political opinions to myself, but I am getting very tired of the Gestapo like atmosphere in the state offices. If you voice any opposition to the Democratic Party you are in serious danger of becoming a target and losing your job. So am I committing career suicide by writing this? Maybe, but I was brought up in a country where you were allowed to express your ideas and you had a right to your opinions, even if they did not match the opinion of your current boss. Anyway, I digress.

The question at hand, has there ever been a case of successful socialism? What did my grandfather and the men of his era fight and die for in WWII if our country turns to socialism. I cannot think of one successful case of socialism in history. The very concept of socialism punishes those who have a drive to succeed and rewards those who don’t. Eventually, the drive for success is beaten (metaphorically and spiritually, not literally) out of those who have the desire and they resort to just doing the minimum. My son has a term for these people that I think is VERY accurate. Socialism creates Sheeple. Sheeple are people who can be herded by our politicians to maintain their power and status.

I have a new puppy. This hypothesis can be proven very simply with him. When I give him a command to sit and then reward him when he does, he learns very quickly to sit. If I give him the command to sit and then take his toys away, he unlearns the command even faster. Now people are smarter than dogs (Sorry PETA, but I haven’t seen a dog build a rocket ship or do Brain Surgery yet), so I would expect this to happen much faster with them. My husband and I both have a strong desire to succeed. We are by no means wealthy. We manage our money and try to make smart business decisions so that we can do the things we love with our children. Hunting, fishing, and travels are all opportunities that I want to give my kids.

We took the money that could have been spent on sending them to camp to learn to be good little conformers, and instead went on a weeklong cruise that allowed our children to visit five countries. They got to see how other parts of the world live, and they came back with a greater appreciation for the privileges and conditions we have here in America. Did we go because we are rich… no. Did we go because we saved and paid for it outright…yes. So why is it that with our middle class income, our responsible money management, and our hard work, that we somehow fall into the Wealthy category and are taxed at 55% for our business and 45% for your personal? We make much less than the theoretical $250,000 per year that the Democrats talk about. I’m sorry, but Obama’s information about the tax brackets just doesn’t stand up to close examination.

It just doesn’t seem right to work until May (ALMOST HALF A YEAR PEOPLE), to pay the government for our taxes. I used to be a democrat, but in the past ten years, it seems like that party has been taken over by extremists. People who want to take away my hunting and rural heritage and want me to help support those who do not have the drive to do anything other than sit on welfare and suck the government tit. Don’t get me wrong, welfare can be a good thing. But not when you sit on it for decades! Helping a single mom out while she is between jobs and trying to provide for her family is one thing. Paying for a lazy welfare mom to pop out kid after kid so she can keep collecting a check is another.

Socialized medicine does not make sense to me either. The government can tear up a dirt road. (if you know that saying you know what I really wanted to say.) What the heck makes them think they can do a GOOD job with my healthcare?! The socialist direction our Democratic party is taking scares me.

The polarization of the people in our country scares me. The threats of civil war from extremist groups if we don’t elect the Democratic candidate scare me even more. The sense of entitlement that the Democratic Party has come to exhibit disturbs me even more. Nobody promised us happiness, just the pursuit of it!!!! Nobody OWES you a job! You have to go get it!!! Who lied to these people and told them that everything in America comes on a silver platter as you lounge on your pillows watching reality TV? I’m just so tired of it. There has to be a solution. These are my thoughts and fears. Nobody will read this probably, but I wonder, what are your thoughts?

Responsibility and Entitlement

Why is it that in today's society we feel "entitled" to things. We are entitled to a job, a house, a car. Nobody wants to accept responsibility for anything. This is really hacking me off! People are suing gun manufacturers because they used the gun in the commission of a crime! WTF!?? "Oh, if you hadn't manufactured that gun I never would have shot my boyfriend. It's not my fault!" People have got to learn to stand up and take responsibility for the things that they do, or DON'T do.

If you want a house, WORK FOR IT! If you want a good job, SHOW UP FOR WORK! If you don't like your car, GET A JOB! Nobody handed me anything when I was growing up. I purchased my first car. It wasn't a Ferrari but a 72 Dodge Dart. Sure, I would have loved a Ferrari, but that wasn't what I could afford. I didn't expect anyone to walk up and say "You deserve a Ferrari because you are a lovely human being." I saved my money from my job for six months, got $500.00 together, and found a vehicle in that price range.

People get irritated with me for not having the free time to do things, but that is because I work and spend time with my family. My boys are getting older and I know that they will be gone soon. This is my last chance to instill the values in them that I think they should have. One of those values is this "Nobody is going to hand you what you want on a silver platter. If you want to go to college, do it like I did. Work for it. Get scholarships and jobs to work your way through. If you want a car, start saving that money and get a job. If you mess up, own up! You will get in three times as much trouble for covering it up, lying about it, or trying to blame it on someone else." I will have done my job if I can get these things through to my kids.

Inappropriate Questions During the Sports Physical

"THE DOCTOR ASKED YOU WHAT?!!!"

I heard the callers last week on the radio talking about the doctor quizzing their kids and I said "They must be exaggerating just a bit." I am an educated woman with a Masters Degree in Computer Information Systems. I am a leader in Cub Scouts for my community and active with the school and local FFA. Not someone you would consider a hazard to be around my own children. What happened this week took me by complete surprise.

I took my children to the Green Meadows clinic in Columbia, MO (A college town where they like to rip the American flag stickers off of my SUV and leave me nasty notes about driving a big truck). The boys were getting their sports physicals, but there wasn't very much physical about it. While I was in the room she quizzed them about how much time they spend on line, did we have guns in the house, did we exercise. I was so proud of my children when they answered the guns question. We are avid hunters and my oldest boy (14) just got his Hunter Certification. He was the first one in the class to score 100% on the test that night and he won a nice digital game camera. Both of the boys explained the rules of safe gun handling and that all the guns are kept in a designated safe room with the ammo locked up.

What really bothers me is what happened after she took my oldest boy to another room to complete his physical. I figured this would be the part where he stripped and got checked and she asked him all the sex questions she thought he would be embarrassed to talk about in front of me. What I found out later was that she asked him questions like this: How much do you drink with mom and dad? How often do they buy you alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs? Do you smoke? Does mom and dad smoke? Do they use drugs? Do you know anyone who does? What are their names? Does mom or dad talk on the cell phone while they are driving? Do they eat while driving? Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend. (Please note the order that was asked in. My son noticed and mentioned the tone of it to me.) Have you had sex with a boyfriend or girlfriend? Do you plan on having sex soon?

I feel betrayed. I have trusted this woman with my health care and that of my children for the last three years. I am a diabetic and I can't just switch doctors because most of them in this area won't take me as a patient. When I switched three years ago I had to pick Columbia, a one hour drive, just to find one that would see me. I am livid, but I don't know if I can raise a fuss. If I make a racket about the questions, she will turn me in the DFS because I obviously must be hiding something that I don't want the kids to tell. Are they going to come investigate me and take my children away because I answered a phone call from a client while I was on the way to her office? If I don't say anything the doctors in that clinic will continue this invasion of privacy.

After talking to some of my friends here in town and doing some research on the internet, I have found that the doctors are following the prescribed AAP (American Association of Pediatricians) set of questions. The AMA (American Medical Association) has instructed all of their doctors to ask the questions about the guns and then to file reports with the police on gun owners who admit to having guns. I am outraged! These are my personal affairs and doctors should not be bringing political agendas into the examination room! How dare they judge me and my lifestyle! I am at once ashamed that I am being profiled as an alcoholic, drug addicted, and careless mother with an arsenal of weapons at my disposal, but then I am infuriated that someone who knows nothing about my life has decided to convict me before bothering to find out anything.

The AMA and the AAP seem to have decided that at some point we moved to Russia and our children are now informants for big brother. This is ridiculous. We need to speak up and put an end to this right now!!!!!!! If your doctor asks your kids these questions, raise a stink…a loud one, preferably in the waiting room so that all the other patients can hear what they are about to face and decide if they want to endure this invasion of privacy. Then find a new doctor. Let all of your friends know about this treatment. We have to stand up for ourselves before they label us all as alcoholic drug addicts who are not able to take care of our kids and take them away to be raised by the state and whatever left wing whacko they decide can provide the best environment for them.
